This weekend has opened up places in my heart i didnt even realize i had shut down. I've realized something thats so incredible and elementary. something that will mkae living my life so much more joyful...the only problem is that its somehting i'll have to work on every minute of everyday and if that means i'll be happir, then i'm going to give it my best shot.
what i learned is this: you cant ever be free in life if you dont let go of all the garbage filling it up. you cant live a full and happy existence without saying hey...i dont really need to carry this around with me anymore. all it does is weigh me down and thats not what will lead me to my happiness. you ned to be honest with yourself and evaluate your life. you cant let what people say about you get to you. this i have learned through 16 years of personal and painful experience. i'm a horrible example for ignoring what people think, because if someone gives me even a dirty look or doesnt return a smile i wonder what i did to make them angry. i hate not being liked. i hate being made fun of, being ostracized, being left out. i HATE the feeling of seeing someone and knowing that your day could be ruined by them. but theres beauty in that same instance. you can choose how to respond. you can let it hurt you and let it kill a piece of your heart. you can choose that. or, you can choose to take away that power from them. you can DECIDE your future. We have such and amazing Lord. God gives us FREEDOM. freedom to choose. we can choose to HATE God, we can CHOOSE to fall madly in love with Him also. God gave us free will, and its such an amazing thing. God created us to be a free people, to be happy, ecstatic, joyful people. His love for you and for me exceeds anything any human could even being to reciprocate, but we can try. Love, live...choose your happiness.
--As we come today, we remind ourselves of what we do. That these songs are not just songs but sign of love for you. This is a HOLY moment now, something of heaven touches earth, voices of angels all resound we join their song. Come, Come, Come, let us worship God with our .:hands held high:. and our *hearts bowed down*, we will run, run, run, to your gates oh God, with a SHOUT of love.--

okay i do agree with most of what you said...and i know, and doubt you will ever see/read this...but i just want give my opinion on life.
See i believe that we have no freedom...as much as we think this, i believe that we have none. The reason i believe this is because every person ends up doing what they were supposed to. For example, if you "choose" to not believe in god, then that was god who made you believe that, that is his master plan for each and everyone of us. If we have freedom, then how come we cant fly to heaven? And you may say we may have "limited freedom" but i believe that we were made by god, to worship god, to love god, but, in the knowing of god, we have decisions on how to "know" him, yet when we defy god and distrust him/her, we were made to say/do that, our plan for god, for us, was to do that certain thing. In the eyes of god, we are his children, the stage at which we are, are infants, and just as infants must be cared for and taught, we are being taught of the powers of god and we are doing what god wants us to do, in essence we are learning to be what god wants us to be. In short, god gave us freedom, but that was not freedom in which we know of, it is the freedom that he controled, that he taught us to do, he taught us to "have" freedom, but the so-called controled freedom by god, we have learned to not know that we have freedom, our freedom has been taught to us in a way that we feel freedom, but dont know that we have been taught to have that certain "freedom". umm its kinds confusing and i kinda confused myself but...in short i think we have our freedom, but that is the freedom that we were taught, made to have. love you cuzin, talk to you later -your cousin nathan
well there...being as this IS my journal i'm going to completely refute that statement. I dont beleiev at all that there's "taught" freedom. here's how it went down.
God made us
God says we, His creation, are good.
God makes a covenant with Moses. we are His people, He is our God.
We honor Him. He gave us from the moment of our creation a freedom to do as we please. you cant take advantage of this either in a positive or negative way. but you can deicde to do whatever you want with your life. God takes action when and ONLY when you ask him to be the light of your life, to be your stronghold, to lead you on your path. we have the freedom to choose whatever we desire.
he loves us that much that he's willing to let us CHOOSE to love him in return, instead of making us love him. he wants us to give our hearts freely to Him, withot obligation. with LOVE.
i hate commenting but...
freedom is the message of the gospel.
you sang like an angel this weekend and i thank you for it.
david.
I agree with you Kristina and I'm so glad you are thinking about these things. It's easy to put our decisions on God and say that the outcomes are predetermined by Him so therefor we have no real freedom. I don't buy that. Just because God is infinite, timeless, and beyond our comprehension does not indicate to me (through what I read in the Bible) that He forces anyone to do anything. Can he work in spite of us? Absolutely, He's a bit smarter than us. But I believe a great joy for Him is sharing His work with us, letting us be part of the creation process.
You sang beautifully this weekend. Thanks for being in the band with us.
a beautiful entry.
i agree with both sides of this argument a little bit. while i dont think that we have complete freedom, we do have the choice to choose to worship and love God or to hate Him. you can choose what to do with your life and a lot of things. but somethings happen that we would rather not, and we cant change them. these are things you dont have the freedom to choose not to have, but you can always choose your reaction. its an interesting thing to think about. thinking is good.
excellent singing this weekend. c ya soon! - Jen :)
