oh yeah--stuff made by ME

the quality of these images is bad. really bad. i'm going to try to get better pictures, that are actually focused and not flashy, but until then here is a general idea of how my floral prints look!this is a large scale repeat i made with scrapbook paper and paper cut outs [petals/buds/stem] and beads
details..

this is my smaller scale repeat, again using paper cut outs for the poppies, puffy paint for the lacy black/gold accents, and beads in the center of each poppy.
detail.

hope you like them!

textiles. patterns. designers. oh my!

ugh, so i've never actually BEEN in savannah on MLK. bad. you cant get anywhere of value because they shut down MLK, which duh makes sense, but i didnt know that. couldnt paint, couldnt get my book to start reading for this week's english unit. so.........i surfed the internet literally almost all day. then sam called and i was horrified to learn it was 5. i began at 12. ugh. but i was working/homeworking. ok..mostly playing but it was relevant to homework so i felt ok.

i found about a billion websites, blogs, online stores dedicated to handmade crafts, repeat pattern designers, textiles, and goods pertaining to the previous. it was amazing. and my brain just like isnt working--its so overloaded with pictures! i have a new fat folder in my bookmarks, "cool stuff", and a new folder of saved images of patterns. i was being so organized in my online meandering, i was proud. because now i actually can figure out how to GET BACK to the sites...which lets be honest you cant always figure out.

some cool sites:

print & pattern [blog]
julia rothman
ipop
book by its cover
design sponge
star crafty

all the images seen here can be found at the print & pattern blog, you can find the designers there!

life as a sicky.

for the second time in less than a week i just spent 2 hours at the doctor. not the greatest thing to do 1st thing in the morning. my throat is on fire, and feels like a huge lump is in it. i dont think the doctors really have any idea what i have--no strep, no mono. "it MAY be a virus, if it is it just needs to run its course, but i guess we'll give you medicine anyway even though we dont think it will do anything." thanks guys. and it only took all morning for that stunning diagnosis.

tonsillitis and pharyngitis.

my neck hurts like a motha too, partially from sitting so awkwardly on the couch last night watching the game, partially because...well it always hurts.

i'm going to sit on my butt all day and watch tv. because truthfully even if i wanted to finish my homework...it would be abysmal at best. and the medicine i've taken is slowly knocking me unconscious.

nightnight.

i adore you.

so i got the indie sampler on iTunes and its amazing. the things i've been listening to i'm totally obsessed with.

every ray lamontagne cd is ridiculously great. the best songs are let it be me, you are the best thing, three more days, be here now, meg white, trouble, shelter, and forever my friend.
i decided i dont really like the 1st kings of leon album, but their most recent, only by the night, is awesome!
william fitzsimmons was on the sampler, but i loved his song so much i bought the album, the sparrow and the crow. its lovely.
and narrow stairs from deathcab is good too. 'your new twin size bed' is my favorite song.

other good ones from the sampler are:

we've got company-civalias
make you go crazy-brett dennen
the lucky ones-time myers
i adore you-melpo mene
one red thread-blind pilot
brand new day-joshua radin
